LMAC Committee Meeting - Sunday 12th January 2014
For all of those brave souls that are intending to go flying on Sunday 12th January, this post is to notify you of a scheduled Committee meeting in the club house starting at 1:00pm.
At the AGM there was a lot of support for the Committee to have closed meetings and the meeting on Sunday will be the first. This means that the club house will be closed for the duration of the meeting, probably around 1 hour. The toilet block and workshop will be open but access to the club house and kitchen area will be restricted to Committee members only.
We're sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Luke Oliver flying his Ramiel Hellfire at the LMAC Indoor Flying on 4th January 2014
New indoor flyer Luke Oliver shows off his new Ramiel Hellfire model at the indoor flying on 4th January. We particularly like the wall walking which Luke demonstrates in the video! A budding young future Indoor Masters contender if he keeps this flying up! We look forward to welcome Luke and his Dad Gary again.

For those of you not on the Facebook 'Leicester Model Aero Club' Group page, a BIG thank you once again for everyone that attended the first of our January indoor meetings. Given the record attendance (25 Flyers, 5 of which were new and 5 observers which we hope will join us for future meetings) we now have enough in the kitty to make the next meeting on 18th January FREE OF CHARGE. It will be free of charge on one proviso however; the proviso is that both sides of the hall are available. This will be checked on Friday 17th January and an an email/the web page will be updated to let you know whats happening. I wouldn't want that number to turn out if we only have one side of the hall!
Many thanks as always to LMAC Vice Chairman Howard Murphy for the selection of pictures above. As you can see, it was a hive of activity and we hope you all had fun?!
There were a couple of inquires as to what the 'shockie' planes which Dan and Matt were flying. Well the model in question is the Twisted Hobbies Crack Laser No 17. They can be purchased from places like ElectricWingMan and Robot Birds among others and there are some links below which we hope will help.

The Power Train for it and servo set can be found here:
And finally you will need some 2S 450mAh batteries which again can be found as follows. Giant Shark have an offer on the Gens Ace batteries at the minute and for £2.86 you can't go wrong!

'It was flat calm when I left my house' - LMAC 29th December 2013
Leicester Model Aero Club LMAC's photostream on Flickr.
One by one they turned up at LMAC on Sunday 29th December and the common statement when getting out of the car was 'It was flat calm when I left my house'! Don't let the gorgeous blue sky deceive you, the wind on Sunday would cut you in two. That said, it didn't stop people flying and LMAC Vice Chairman Howard Murphy captured a great set of pictures of Heli's, multi-rotors, EDFs and aerobatic planes all braving the elements. Those long warm August evenings seem a million miles away now! Enjoy
